Coasters are objects that most people acknowledge the convenience of, but regularly struggle with.
For instance, the coaster can lift off the table with the glass.
This can occur with any coaster.
Then a few seconds later, the coaster falls on the table with a loud crash.
This scene is all too familiar.
Eventually, the coaster becomes soggy from the dripping condensation on the glass.
This happens frequently when the coaster is made from fabric or paper.
Then, what is the most suitable material for a coaster? The ideal coaster would be one that does not stick to the glass, will not look miserable from the dripping condensation, and above all should maintain its beauty. To make this dream coaster possible, we had to find the material that handles water the best. This research is what leads us to the creation of “THE COASTER”.
Tiles are waterproof, water-repellent, and its beauty is unharmed by water. Tile will not stick to glass, or become stained with condensation.
While it may look like a grouping on separate, individual tiles, it is actually made of one piece of tile extruded from a custom designed mold to maximize durability.
