There are a variety of soaps on the market, which purpose ranges from face wash, body wash, for laundry, and medicinal. This is precisely why the solution to creating “THE SOAP” was very straightforward.
1. Ingredients … Additives such as artificial coloring and preservatives must not be used. Must be hypoallergenic and made with reliable ingredients and manufacturing methods.
2. Use … Must be compatible in every scene where soap is necessary, such as face wash, body wash, hand washing, etc.
3. Function … Thorough and efficient cleansing while also moisturizing the skin, and above all, must be environment friendly
It is very difficult to fulfill all three of these criteria. However, through our diligent research, we discovered that there is an existing soap that meets all of the criteria stated above – the cauldron-cooked “Wakuneri” soap by Matsuyama Co., Ltd., having a history of over 100 years of business, having established in 1908.
Using the traditional method of cauldron cooking, the soap paste is cooked for 100 hours, then poured into a mold where it is cooled, hardened, dried and aged for approximately 20 days. Although this method is time-consuming, costly, and labor-intensive, the soaps made are highly pure yet do not cause skin tension, and the dense soap particles prevent the soap from disfiguring, yet creates a rich lather.
No additive fragrances are included, for the intended use by infants and individuals with sensitive skin. The shea butter leaves a protective layer of moisture once the soap is rinsed off, which protects the skin from outer damage.
